VBS 2017

Each day at Maker Fun Factory VBS, kids traveled through rotations that reinforce relevant Bible Points and immerse kids in new adventures.  The goal is to anchor kids in the truth that Jesus carries them through life’s storms.

On Day 1, we met a decorator crab named Decker.  He taught us the Bible Point, “God made you!” It’s based on a key Bible Verse: “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex” from Psalm 139:14.  This was taught based on the Bible Story that God lovingly creates people in Psalm 139 and Genesis 1:26-2:4.

On Day 2, we met a cathedral termite named Tina.  He taught us the Bible Point, “God is for you.” It’s based on a key Bible Verse: “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” from Romans 8:31. This was taught based on the Bible Story: Rahab believes in God’s mighty power in Joshua 1-2.

On Day 3, we met a humpback whale named Bubba.  He taught us the Bible Point, “God is always with you.”  It’s based on a key Bible Verse: “The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” from Joshua 1:9.  This was taught based on the Bible Story: God is with Gideon in the book of Judges 6:11-7:25.

On Day 4, we met a colorful bowerbird named Skylar.  He taught us that “God will always love you.” It’s based on a key Bible Verse: “Your unfailing love will last forever” from Psalm 89:2.  This was taught based on the Bible Story: Jesus dies and comes back to life in Luke 22:66-24:12. Furthermore, we brought in a special event called Mad Science.  It was a spectacular science-themed show designed to amaze and entertain young audiences with foggy dry ice storms, static electricity, and much more. Finally, Pastor Bryan taught us about the Gospel using fun and engaging props.

On the final day (Day 5), we met a bee named Abbee who helped the children explore how God made us for a reason.  It’s based on a key Bible Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord” in Jeremiah 29:11. This was taught based on the Bible Story from how Abigail brings peace in 1 Samuel 25.
