A caring place where
God transforms lives.
Hope Community Church is a special place. It’s a home and a family to many different people, even those who are unsure about the Christian faith. People care genuinely for one another, and we allow space for God to transform lives when and as he chooses.
People are strengthened. Genuineness is encouraged. Christianity is a matter of the heart.
We‘ve all had experiences in churches where programs were put above people, people were more fake than real, and Christianity was more of a religion than a matter of the heart.
Hope Community Church was started by a group of people who wanted to do church differently. Because of that, we’ve always made this a place that’s about people, genuineness, and a faith that comes from the heart.
Love God. Love one another. Love our neighbors.
For us, following Jesus really is this simple. It’s UP, IN, and OUT. It’s UP (love God), IN (love one another), and OUT (love our neighbors).
Our Story
Hope Community Church began in 1979 with a group of people who desired a more genuine expression of Christian faith and community, like what they read about in the Bible.
The church officially launched in 1980 as Family Bible Church. At first our church met in homes and then in a local community center. All that changed in 1986 when a church meeting at 240 Reed Street closed its doors. Seeing God at work in our church family, they gave us the building for just one dollar! In 2000, we changed our name to Hope Community Church.
We couldn’t be more excited about the future God has for all of us! A new season is beginning with a new lead pastor who came in 2017. We truly believe the very best is yet to come, and we want you to be a part of it!
